Active in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1945 to 1973, the USCGC Winnebago was a high endurance cutter that was named after Winnebago Lake in Wisconsin. Although it was originally commissioned to serve in WWII, by the time construction on the USCGC Winnebago was finished, the war had ended.
As a result, the USCGC Winnebago spent the bulk of her career serving the Navy in the Vietnam War.
